Gastronomic tourism is an emerging and relatively recent phenomenon, constituting, increasingly, as a prominent tourism product. In addition, the gastronomy of a destination is of considerable importance as far as the tourist experience is concerned. No sense of getting to know a gastronomic offer of Vila Real, a CETRAD-DOUROTUR research team organized a presentation dedicated to the Restoration of the Municipality.
The weight of the food, does not present, goes beyond the biological and imperative meraiab. Today, it is a form of mediation and symbolic representation of cultural identities, positioning itself as an essential component of cultural heritage. Conscious of this reality, destinations increasingly orient and sustain their greatest gastronomic component or, at least, use them as complementary ones of long-standing importance.
The presence of the meeting and the working of the governing of Vila Real, opening the debate and sector and the importance of gastronomy in the port of Douro.
