Under the Interreg -SUDOE program was approved the project AgroSMARTcoop, directed to agribusiness cooperatives and to their associated companies, aimed the integration, competitiveness and economic growth of companies through organizational innovation, clever commercialization of its products and encouraging the creation of alliances and projects that allow an advantageous cooperation.
The project involves a set of eight partners from three countries:
- Four from Spain - Association Galician of Agricultural Cooperatives (AGACA, lead partner), Center for Scientific and Technology Research of Extremadura (CICYTEX), Agro-food's Cooperatives of Castilla-La Mancha (CACLM), Federation of Agro-Food's Cooperatives of Euskadi (FCAE);
- Two from France - Association of European Regions of Origin Products (AREPO) and Cooperative of France Aquitaine (CDF); and
- Two from Portugal: Union Cooperative Multipurpose North Region (UniNorte) and UTAD, involving researchers from CETRAD (Transdisciplinary Research Centre for Development).
The project began in July 2016 and lasts until June 2018, with a total budget of 1 295 000.00, of which 157 500,00 euros are for the activities of UTAD.
