The CCDRN's Norte2020 Programme has recently announced that it will be financing, to the tune of almost 1,5 million €, three new R&D&I projects in which CETRAD researchers have a significant participation.
The projects in questions are the following:
1) DOUROTUR. The project, in which CETRAD is the lead organisation, and whose candidature was coordinated by Xerardo Pereiro, aims to develop the potential of responsible and sustainable tourism in the Douro by promoting wider and more systematic use of digital technologies by tourism firms and local communities alike.
2) The Vine & Wine Innovation Platform envisages a number of interlocking research lines, each with a wide range of research activities. Its Research Line on the competitiveness of the vitivinicultural value chain, coordinated by João Rebelo, will be CETRAD's responsibility.
3) INTERACT is a project led by our sister research centre CITAB, analysing innovation in the agri-food value chain. CETRAD researcher Lívia Madureira will be part of the Research Line on "Bioeconomy & Sustainability”, the aim of which is to contribute to a more sustainable economy and society by designing bioeconomic solutions to agrarian and rural development issues.
In addition to the funding of equipment, bibliographical resources, data-bases, fieldwork visits and research support services of various types, these projects will bring between 15 and 20 new researchers (predominantly doctoral and postdoctoral) into the Centre, where they will work during the 3 years' duration of these projects.
