The General Secretariat of Linguistic Policy is the body of the General Administration of the Autonomous Community of Galicia in the promotion and teaching of the Galician language and directing, planning, coordinating and executing the language policy of the Galician Government, and aims to promote the development and implementation objectives of secondary legislation article 5 of the Statute of autonomy of Galicia.
Some of these objectives involve the development of measures to promote the use of the Galician language in different social and economic domains of Galicia, in order to increase the availability of products and services in Galician; The planning and development of campaigns and measures to promote the use and dissemination of knowledge within and outside the Galician language territory and, finally, the promotion, coordination and development of research policy which encourages linguistic normalization in its various manifestations, especially in the field of vocabulary and terminology.
