The Institute of Heritage Sciences (Incipit) brings together about fifty people who are dedicated to the study of cultural heritage as a scientific problem. Incipit represents the evolution of the previous Laboratory Heritage (Lapa), an entity consolidated as a center with its own entity. Among its research underlings there are the following areas:
