Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ, www.steinbeis-europa.de) was founded in 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economics. Its task is to help small and medium sized enterprises and research organisations to get involved in European research projects, initiate transnational technology transfer and the uptake of research results and technology foresight activities. SEZ has vast experience in carrying out and managing European projects in these areas and is a key player in Europe for bringing private companies, science and technology institutions and policy makers together. SEZ has 50 staff working in offices in Baden-Württemberg, Germany and is part of the Steinbeis transfer network with more than 800 Steinbeis Enterprises in Baden-Württemberg and beyond and the Enterprise Europe Network.
