The second international conference on Development, Societies & Territories, DeST2019, will be held under the aegis of the PhD Programme in Development, Societies and Territories (DeST). It is jointly organized by the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD) and the Department of Economics, Sociology & Management (DESG) of the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), with the support of the Iberian R&D unit network which anchors the PhD programme DeST. It will be held on the 26th of June 2019 at Porto Design Factory, Polytechnic of Porto in the city of Porto, in the North of Portugal.
The second international conference on Development, Societies & Territories – DeST2019 – will focus on Shaping territorial transformation through inclusive innovation: The contribution of transdisciplinary approaches. By selecting this theme, the DeST2019 aims at stimulating experiences exchange and the debate on innovation effects on territorial and social inclusion and on how it can be designed and implemented to enhance inclusiveness. In addition, DeST2019 aims at bring to the fore the potential of transdisciplinary approaches to design territorial innovation measures by approaching the goals and the practices of social scientists to the social actors and by crossing scientific with local, tacit and synthetic knowledge.
